ALASD Who?

If you are served by Alexandria Lake Area Sanitary District (ALASD) and you flush your toilet, wash your dishes, brush your teeth, or take a shower, the water that goes down the drain or is flushed down into your sewer is collected in our system and the conveyed polluted water is delivered to our advanced wastewater treatment.  The advanced treatment process removes pollutants and nutrients that pollute our lakes and streams!

ALASD was created in 1971, and our mission is to prevent and control water pollution in the Alexandria Lakes Area to preserve our waters and natural resources. We strive to efficiently and economically treat and clean polluted sewage water to re-use quality.  ALASD’s treatment process discharges some of the highest quality effluent water from our advanced treatment plant in the state of Minnesota.
