Wastewater Treatment Expansion Fee
A WTEF is charged for all new connections to public sanitary sewer to pay the cost of treatment plant expansion due to area growth. A permit must be obtained and the WTEF must be paid before the permit can be approved.

Residential Monthly User Rates
Residential family user rates apply to single family dwellings including those that are rented, partially or in whole, provided it discharges normal domestic strength wastewater.
Rates are established by an ALASD user charge ordinance #3, adopted by the ALASD Board of Directors. Fees are billed monthly by Alexandria Light and Power (ALP).

Based on Equivalent Domestic Units (EDUs)- 1 EDU= A single family dwelling.
Commercial Monthly User Rates - Metered
202 Non-residential/commercial user charges:
$9.50 per 1,000 gallons
The monthly service fee shall be based on private sewer pipe connection to structure and shall be as follows:
4” to 6” - $47.54 per month
8” or larger - $95.08 per month
Water Reclamation Fee- $4 per month
Commercial Monthly User Rates - Non-Metered
2026 Non-residential/commercial accounts not having a city metered water service shall be charged a monthly service fee plus the usage rate per EDU according to the fee schedule below.
4" - $47.54
6” or larger - $96.06
Usage rate per EDU - $47.54
Water Reclamation Fee- $4 per month
Resort & Commercial Off Season Rates
ALASD defines a "Resort" as a commercial enterprise whose income is solely derived from the rental of housing units and associated goods and equipment. The units must be available for rent 3-months of each year. Upon written notice and the signing of the contractual agreement, user rates will be reduced during the off-season to the minimum charge of $95.08. The minimum will not apply if the resorts off season usage exceeds the minimum charge.
Units owned by individuals, corporations, cooperatives, associations or other multiple owner groups will not be considered a resort and therefore do not qualify for an off season rate.
